Santa Claus Came to Town....

Although we were morning the loss of my beloved Papal Vickery during the holidays, Joy was brought to all of our faces as Sophia celebrated Christmas and for the first year was able to understand the joy and magic of Christmas... and believe me the joy and magic is still spread out all over the house...ha!

Dora Birthday

Sophia celebrated her 3rd birthday today! She was a perfect angel today and had a wonderful birthday. We missed our PawPaw and we were sad that he was not able to join us today. However, People that were able to attend were LaLa, Bibba and Suzanne, Friends from school, Miss Kenady Brooke, Brooke and Kaleigh, Jennifer Brewer and her girls, Little Lucas Honekom, and Abby!
I can't believe how much my Little Baby has grown up!! I hope all of her Birthday wishes come true!

Oh Christmas Tree

While getting out my box of Christmas Tree stuff, i started thinking, well.. one more good year, but this year I am hitting the day after Christmas Sale and gather new and ornaments for my tree to revamp it's look. I still may, but let me tell you this year I think that it looks even more beautiful than Ever!!

My Darling Daughter put on it's first ornament that said HOPE, I love it!. I let her get out the ornaments from the tin... she would get it out and almost everyone she would say either, "Awwww.. beutiful" or " Awww.. cute!" She would help me hang it or tell me where. (Sometimes I would distract her with a Christmas Book or Stuffed Animail) Sophia told me to go upstairs and get some more Christmas stuff!! :-)

I had never had so much fun putting up the Christmas tree and I think we did a BEAUTIFUL job!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I just wanted to write a Thanksgiving note to say Happy Thanksgiving to our friends and family.

We visited the Fries' home today, ate, watched the girls play, and looked at the sale ads. As Nan, Libba, Suzanne, and Madison prepare to get their shop on in the middle of the night, I opt on line shipping deals and have already gotten started... this just kills my mom as she thought she raised an experienced shopper!!

I just like to soak up the days at home with my Fia....

Cheers to FAMILY and all of our MANY blessings!

love,
Nichole

Fia at Halloween!!

Sophia had a blast running from house to house as David took her on the four wheeler, but then we conviced Sophia that it was MUCH more fun for her to see all the kids and hand them candy!... She agreed! She had a blast. She was on the edge of her stool yelling, "Kids, Come here!" I got the candy!! It was SUPER cute!!

Disney On Ice

SO... I ventured off to Atlanta with Fia and the O'Saben girls via a generous Mother of a little girl in Sophia's class who generously offered us the tickets.. and AWESOME parking!

Fia Loved it, but almost at the end she said she wanted to go home and eat food. She had been staring at the boy behind us eating popcorn, but I would not get her any, b/c we had already eaten dinner at the Varsity and I got each girl a snow cone. Fia fell asleep on the way home, but woke me up at 6AM and asked me to pop her some pop corn!

Each girl got a present and a snowcone:
Lindsey: some sparkly wand spinny thing
Fia: A Minnie Mouse Purse
Sarah Beth: A tinkerbell diary

I think it is cool to look at what each girl chose! This stressful venture was completly worth it and did not end up being bad due to the AWESOME seats and PARKING! So.. THANK YOU... Emily's Mom!

Cumming Fair

It's the Cumming Fair!! A staple in the Family Fall Fun Agenda. This year we started it off with Sophia competing in the Little Miss Forsyth County Pageant. I am not sure why I do this to her! I think I just like to show her off!! It started off rough, but all in all, Sophia loved it! Sophia loves the spotlight, her LaLa, and her Nan!! We then finished off the fair with rides, "go fishin," and a Turkey Leg (another Sophia Favorite)!!!

More Fall Festivites to Come!!

My Papal

OKAY... So.. remember a few months ago when I asked all to pray for My Papal and we thought everything was fine. Well... They wanted to make sure so he had surgery and sure enought it was the big C!! Lung Cancer. He has had 3 months of Chemo and then a check up.. it has not spread! Praise Jesus!! So... I ask for everyone to pray that the Chemo tackles what is in his body this next three months and we can get rid of that crud!! My Papal is an Awesome Man who loves God. He also LOVES his Fia and we won't him to be around for her life!! I am posting pics of Papal's 72nd birthday party at our house!! I can't wait to celebrate is 92nd!!!! N

VINTAGE BARBIE'S

So.. David saw a bumper sticker today that said, "I wish I was Barbie.. That Bitch has Everything." Sorry for the profanity, but I have cleaned out the attic today, rewarded myself with a glass of wine and feeling slightly less stressed...if you know what I mean.

However, I did come across my Mom's Barbie's and and a few of mine. I was really not into Barbie. I played with the few that my mom gave me, I had the Dr. Barbie and Skipper, and I remember being party to cutting a few of Kimbo's Barbie's hair.

Sophia loved them. However, she wants to know where Daddy is. So... we have to go buy Ken.

I found this a pretty cool moment where I was able to share a piece of my Mom's childhood and my childhood with my daughter. Check out the hot pants!!!!

Sophia's First Day of School

Okay.. She just changed daycare. Anyway... She did GREAT..i cried, but who here's surprised? I'm, as usual, so PROUD of her! We have been discussing her new school for a few weeks now, and she was pumped! I think that it was time for a change for her also. Her Daddy picked her up from school, so I am lacking in the details.. Men! But I do know... she had a great day! When she was leaving all the kids were saying, "Bye Sophia, Bye! Sophia is now," fixing my hair." I too, had a MARVELOUS first day at my new school ....

EXHAUSTED

Ok.. Well, I have started my new job. I love it! It has gone great so far and I have met a bunch of Wonderful new people! Sophia starts her new school on Monday and we will miss our friends at Dahlonega Country Day SOOOO Very Much! So.. we or I am slightly anxious, but I think Sophia is excited! School starts on Monday for me also and I am EXCITED about that! I have met my students and they are AWESOME!
Other highlights of our week include Nan's homemade peach cobbler with fresh GA peaches, my intimite movie night by myself watching the Other Bolyn Girl (God Bless Pay Per View), which was a chance for me to just chill, escape, and relax, and my Dad getting my Wireless working Finally(Thanks Dad!), Sophia getting to spend some quality time with Nan and her Aunts, and also Sophia's success in Potty Training (she is doing great, with few accidents and I couldn't be prouder of my Fia). My brain is really too tired to post this blog so I think that pictures sums this past week up (and probably next week)! Loves!

ON A HAPPIER NOTE....

Fia is doing great in the Potty training dept. The way it has always worked with Fia and I is the opportunity will present itself and I will ignore it, thinking that she is not ready (this happened with binkies, bottles, etc.), then another opportunity will arise and I will just Seize the Moment! So, yesterday.. it just so happened.. it was like.. TODAY SOPHIA IS GOING TO WEAR PANTIES! I picked her up from school yesterday and she had the same panties on! I could not have been prouder, except today... (yes.. even after the "incident,"/ I guess she was not TOO traumatized), we were at Walmart (trying to buy my child toys so she could erase the horror of today's events where she was bitten on the the face by a Crazed Toddler), she informed me she needed to go," yuckies." I rushed her to the bathroom and there we sat (potty totally wrapped in the things that hang on the wall, thank you). Nothing.. a little pee, that's all. We finish our shopping in the car, she said it again. Not wanting to do the whole thing over, I said, well don't go in your panties and we will go when we get home. We get home.. all dry. So we take the potty onto the porch and she sits on it while we put her "BUBBLE GRILL" together. Nothing. I leave the porch to go and retrieve all of our shopping items from the car and I hear her yelling something, but I thought she was just excited with her Bubble Grill! Then D comes running out, excited, but mortified!!! YES! EUREKA! She pooed in the potty!! (the little toddler kind)... IT was NOT pretty, but it was in the POTTY! I am SOOO proud! Man.. I love her!
PS.. isn't it funny as we get older, we go from talking about fake nails and cute boys to Toddler terrors and Poop! I love it! N

R U KIDDING ME?

Ok... I know it is natural for some kids to bite.. especially in daycare, shoot, Sophia even had a few incidents. But NOTHING like this!!! I am so mad right now, but at the same time wondering where I should direct this anger! I understand that the mom of this child is probably wondering what she is going to do with her child, but as a Mom, I just can't help from being just a bit PEEEVED Off!!! Anyway.. check out my baby with her first "war wound...." and by the way.. she was not doing anything, but sitting sweetly in a chair. The little bully just decided he wanted to sit there. I needed to vent, now I just have to see if she needs a tetanus! Sheesh!

DATE NIGHT

So... I had the most amazing night with my husband last night. It all started with my "Congratualtions on your New Job" dinner at firewater.. sponsered by Lyn Barnett (Thanks Lyn!), where we had a witty funny waiter who helped us put a Leonards Farmer's Market business card on the chef's desk and my favorite... Crab Cake! Sophia was at "nastics," with her LaLa and then spending the night at Papal's house with LaLa! David and I went home and sat on the porch and spent some quality time listening to Classic Country, talking, laughing, and reminising. We have not had a stressfree conversation in months and I feel rejuvenated in my marriage and in life in general! God has answered my prayers! God Bless Date Night!
